Microchipping your pet can be very beneficial to both owner and animal if the pet is unfortunate enough to stray from home.

A microchip is inserted in the back of the neck and when it is scanned it reveals a number which is unique to your pet and is on a national database with your contact details.  It is essential that your initial contact details are sent off immediately and must be updated as soon as they are changed.

This has proved successful many, many times by reuniting numerous pets with their owners and as you can imagine has saved a lot of heartache and worry.

Microchipping can be carried at our Kennels (where we board our animals who are waiting to be rehomed).

The cost is  £12.00 for Cats or Dogs

MICROCHIPPING  REALLY    DOES  WORK

Earlier this year we had a telephone call from a branch of Holdcroft Motors saying they had found a cat in one of their courtesy cars and could we take it from them.  Fortunately we had a space available at one of our catteries.  When he arrived it was scanned for a microchip and surprise, surprise it had a chip.

We contacted the owners in Ashbourne and the cat was reunited with his owners very quickly.  He must have jumped  in the car when it was in the Ashbourne area.  We would not have advertised him out of this local area, and neither would his owner, so without the microchip he would have been put up for rehoming and never would have been reunited with his original owners.
